The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was founded in 1957 by four nations: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and South Africa. As the administrative body of the region, CAF manages competitions, offers technical and administrative training courses while actively fostering the promotion and practice of football. The Confederation organizes championships such as the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN or AFCON), the most popular competition. It maintains very close links with FIFA in coordinating tournaments for different events such as the World Cup, Youth and Women competitions and the Olympic Games Football Tournaments.

Job Title: Internal Auditor

Roles/Responsibilities
CAF Internal Audit Function:
- Complete assigned audit programs delegated by the Senior Internal Audit Manager, in accordance with the approved audit plan and CAF’s internal audit methodology.
- Perform substantive testing, walkthroughs, and control tests to gather sufficient, relevant, and reliable audit evidence.
- Conduct interviews, obtain and review documentation, and perform analytical procedures during audit engagements.
- Prepare working papers and maintain proper documentation to support audit findings in line with IIA Standards.
- Assist in drafting internal audit reports that summarize key findings and recommendations, and present drafts to the Senior Internal Audit Manager for review.
- Monitor and follow up on agreed management action plans and present follow-up results to the Senior Internal Audit Manager for validation.
- Help identify control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement across departments.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of the audit universe, risk assessments, and audit plans.
- Assist in developing audit tools, templates, and frameworks aligned with IIA Standards and best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit processes and procedures to ensure relevance, efficiency, and alignment with CAF’s objectives.
- Maintain close coordination with the Senior Internal Audit Manager on all assignments.
Others
- Support the promotion of a culture of accountability, ethics, and internal control awareness across CAF.
- Provide advice and training to CAF staff on internal control procedures.
- Ensure that issues of internal control are considered during all work and in the development of new policies and procedures.
- Stay abreast of developments in internal audit practices, risk management, and control frameworks.
- Contribute to continuous review of the organisation’s systems and to recommend changes as necessary.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior Internal Audit Manager, to support the effective functioning of the Internal Audit Department and CAF’s strategic objectives.
- Protect the property and assets of CAF at all times.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.
- Progress toward or possession of a recognized certification (e.g., CIA, ACCA, CPA) is a strong advantage
- 3+ years of professional experience in internal auditing or related functions.
- Strong understanding of International Internal Audit Standards (IIA Standards).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex audit findings to senior management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and assess internal control weaknesses and recommend improvements.
- The ability to build relationships with staff across different departments within CAF and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements for international organizations.
- Strong professional judgment and the ability to maintain independence when conducting audits.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and other modern IT tools.
- Native fluency in spoken and written French is mandatory. Proficiency in English is required. Fluency in Arabic is a plus.
- A passion for African football and strong understanding of CAF’s mission and values (preferred but not mandatory).

Job Title: Project Manager – CAF IMPACT Programme
Location: Cairo, Egypt
Roles/Responsibilities
Capacity Building and Project Management within the Member Association Division:
- Develop, monitor and coordinate the implementation of CAF’s Capacity Building activities across Member Associations (MAs) and Zonal Unions (ZUs), ensuring alignment with established frameworks and support tools provided by the MA Division.
- Act as the main contact point for capacity-building initiatives within the division, facilitating consistent delivery, communication, and feedback across internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Zonal Unions to consolidate knowledge and data for reporting and evaluation purposes.
- Support planning and execution of CAF workshops, training missions, and technical assistance visits.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning:
- Monitor and assess the impact of capacity-building support; collect feedback and recommend improvements.
- Provide regular updates to the Director of MAs on implementation progress, risks, and resource requirements.
Cross-Unit and Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Support other CAF departments, including Schools Football, Safeguarding, and CSR, in developing and executing capacity-building components of their programmes.
- Work closely with the African Schools Programme Team and CAF Executive Directors to align training and development initiatives.
- Coordinate with the Communications and PR team to promote capacity-building stories and achievements across platforms.
External Engagement and Partnerships:
- Foster connections with academic institutions, NGOs, confederations, and external experts to support joint training or institutional development.
Operational and Financial Oversight:
- Provide input into the annual planning and budgeting process for capacity-building activities; track expenditures and ensure efficient resource use.
- Ensure effective documentation, knowledge sharing, and reporting to support transparency and organizational learning.
Eligibility Requirements
- Master’s Degree preferred in Project Management, Organizational Development, Capacity Building, Sports Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in development, project management, or capacity-building project management, preferably within sport, international development, or public sector reform.
- Experience designing and delivering training programmes or institutional assessments in Africa.
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-cultural stakeholders and partnerships.
- Expertise in institutional capacity assessment and programme design
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Good project planning, budgeting, and reporting ability.
- Fluency in English is a must; fluency in French, Arabic and/or Portuguese is a strong asset.
- Ability to travel across the African continent.
