Job Title: Shipment Documentation Officer (Export / Import)

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Reports to: Logistics / Shipping Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Shipment Documentation Officer to join our logistics team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing all export and import documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and process export and import documentation, including:
- Commercial invoices
- Packing lists
- Bills of lading
- Airway bills
- Certificates of origin
- Other relevant documents
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including:
- Customs regulations
- Export control regulations
- Sanctions and embargoes
- Other relevant regulations
Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth clearance of shipments
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all shipments, including documentation and tracking information
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
Identify and resolve documentation issues and discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner
Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations, laws, and company policies, and apply this knowledge to ensure compliance.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
At least 2 years of experience in shipment documentation, export/import operations, or a related field
Good knowledge of export and import regulations, including customs procedures and documentation requirements
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software applications
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
